Lecturer

Allegra Bukojemsky is a landscape architect registered in Alaska, California, and Colorado. Her background includes biology, animal behavior, sustainable architecture, and industrial design. This broad range of experience comes from her passion to strengthen and repair our connection to and stewardship of nature.

Allegra’s particular interests include human perception and interaction with nature, wildlife habitats and corridors, and urban ecology. She has worked on a variety of projects, including master planning, commercial development, public parks, private residences, and habitat restoration. She also participates in multidisciplinary teams that include architects, engineers, biologists, researchers, administrators, contractors, funders and public stakeholders.

Allegra works on research, documentation, design and implementation of all phases of project work, from data collection and conceptual design, through construction drawings and administration. She uses AutoCAD and Adobe CS3 to integrate data from a variety of sources, including survey data, GPS data, aerial photographs, and GIS maps, as well as architectural and engineering plans.

Having long had a strong focus on sustainability in life and work, Allegra is a LEED-Accredited Professional and one of the founding members and current co-chair of the ASLA Sustainable Design and Development Professional Practice Network and, in this capacity, is involved in the associated Sustainable Sites Initiative.
